The head of the border guard agency carried out an inspection from the air and in the area of those areas where the most active illegal activity is recorded. Serhii Deineko emphasized that border guards of the Chernivtsi border guard detachment detain border violators and smugglers every day.

At a joint briefing of the Head of the State Border Guard Service and the Head of the Chernivtsi Regional State Administration Serhii Osachuk, the speakers stated that organized groups specializing in the illegal movement of cigarettes across the border had been formed in the Chernivtsi region over the years. The head of the region called this phenomenon shameful and emphasized that counteracting is not only the responsibility of border guards, but also of other law enforcement agencies and authorities. He noted the need to effectively combat the organizers of illegal activities so that border guards do not have to detain the violators.

Serhii Deineko and Serhii Osachuk also focused on the issues of border infrastructure arrangement. The speakers emphasized on the importance of building the Diakivtsi BCP, as well as other border crossing points and roads that would provide quality international traffic and expand Ukraine's tourism potential.

In addition, Serhii Deineko and Serhii Osachuk took part in the opening of a modern sports ground in the management of the border guard detachment.

“Thanks to this sports ground, the personnel of Chernivtsi border guard detachment will be easier and more convenient to keep themselves fit," said the Head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. Serhii Deineko paid special attention to the fact that border guards must be physically and professionally ready not only to guard but also to protect the border. “You all understand the situation on our borders with our aggressive neighbor. It is not a secret, I think, that the units located on the western part of the border will be used as reserves, thanks to which we will strengthen our sectors of the state border with both Russia and Belarus,” pointed out the Head of the border guard agency.
