At the Administration of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, a meeting was held between the chief of the border agency, Major-General Serhii Deineko, and a delegation from the Japanese Embassy in Ukraine, led by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Japan to Ukraine, Matsuda Kuninori.

The primary purpose of the meeting was a discuss the current state and the future prospects of bilateral cooperation between the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and the law enforcement agencies as well as the Japanese Government.

The Ukrainian side presented its plans for the further development of the border agency, its role, and its position within the structure of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, and discussed potential opportunities for cooperation with Japan in various fields.

At the same time, the Japanese side expressed its support for Ukraine and its readiness to intensify and further develop cooperation with the border agency.
