The fourth meeting of the Project Higher Committee was recently held as part of the joint international technical assistance project “Together with the EU for Border Security”.

Due to quarantine measures, the meeting was held online. It was attended by representatives of the European Union in the Republic of Moldova, representatives of the General Inspectorate of Border Police of Moldova and the Customs Service of Moldova, representatives of the State Borderguard Service of Ukraine and the State Immigration Service of Ukraine, as well as IOM authorities in Ukraine. The meeting was also attended by the Head of the EUBAM Mission Slavomir Pihor.

During the meeting, the current state of project implementation and the results achieved over the past six months were discussed.

Representatives of the State Borderguard Service of Ukraine thanked the EU representatives for their support and informed international partners about the successful implementation of the technical assistance project. In particular, the agency has already received binoculars, thermal imaging monoculars and binoculars, photo traps, workstations, laptops, sets of compatible accessories for communications equipment, patrol boats and other equipment.

In addition, the meeting discussed specialized training for staff and technical assistance this year.

Following the meeting of the Higher Committee, all parties confirmed the importance of the implementation of the joint project and interest in extending the implementation for this year.
