The meeting of the First Deputy Head of the Border Guard Agency, Major General Volodymyr Nikiforenko, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Ukraine, Etienne de Poncins, took place a few days ago during a working tr

The parties discussed burning issues in the field of state border security, the combat activities of the State Border Guard Service within the Defense Forces of Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of russia, as well as the main aspects related to the defense of state borders in the de-occupied territories.

“As a part of the defense sector of Ukraine, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine continues to protect our country on all the fronts and ensures the security of the border, where the situation also remains tense. Taking into consideration the existing threats, one of the main tasks of the Border Guard Service remains the development of its military components,” said the First Deputy Head of the State Border Guard Service.

Volodymyr Nikiforenko informed the French representatives about the main tasks performed by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, as well as the situation on the border with belarus. The First Deputy Head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine thanked the Ambassador for the strong and consistent support of the people of Ukraine and readiness to deepen cooperation in the face of military aggression by the russian federation.

Etienne de Poncins expressed his belief in the effectiveness of the work of the State Border Guard Service. He also emphasized that he supported Ukraine and was aware of the military needs of the border guard agency.

The parties also discussed the importance of engineering and technical arrangement of the border during the meeting. In addition, it was emphasized that close cooperation and military assistance to Ukraine is important for effective confrontation with the enemy.

At the end, Volodymyr Nikiforenko and Etienne de Poncins discussed the main areas of further cooperation.
