The house of Vasyl and Nelly Shiposhiv is always bustling, fun and joyful, because they are raising nine children.

In 2018, warrant officer Vasyl Shiposh, a technician from the communications section of the Velykyi Bereznyi border guard division of the Chop border guard detachment together with his wife Nelya, founded a family-type orphanage in the village of Velykyi Bereznyi, Zakarpattia region.

At that time, the couple already had a daughter, Kateryna, and a son, Taras. However, according to Vasyl, they always dreamed of a big family, so they decided to take such a serious step.

Initially, their family was joined by three new children, and later by four more sisters. All the children were from dysfunctional families in the Zakarpattia region.

Vasyl and Nelya were the first to establish a family-type orphanage in the Velykobereznyanskyi district of Zakarpattia. Currently, there are 9 such houses. Large families are in close contact and help each other.

Vasyl admits: “This work is difficult and responsible. It takes a lot of effort and time. But, you know, when I come back from work to my beloved wife and nine children, I get tired like a hand. We are happy with our choice!”
