Yesterday, January 8, the russian occupation forces continued shelling the border areas of Sumy and Chernihiv regions.

The enemy inflicted fire damage using UAVs, mortars, barrel and rocket artillery. The Myropillia, Khotin, Bilopillia, Esman, Znob-Novhorodske, Seredyna-Buda and Nova Sloboda communities of Sumy Oblast and the Novhorod-Siverskyi and Semenivka communities of Chernihiv Oblast came under enemy fire.

In the first half of the day, the russians fired 7 artillery shells from the area of the village of kurkovychi along the border area of the Semenivka community.

7 mines of 82 mm caliber and 1 grenade launcher VOG dropped from a UAV exploded in the border area of the Novhorod-Siverskyi community. The enemy opened fire from the russian settlement of sluchevsk.

The russians shelled the Esman community four times from the side of settlements lokot and iskra from various types of weapons: mortars – 22 explosions, artillery shells – 9 explosions, and rocket artillery – 15 explosions.

As a result of the shelling, four private houses of the local residents, as well as a school and a village club, were significantly damaged.

In the afternoon, the russians shelled the territory of the Myropillia community with 152-mm barrel artillery and 120-mm mortars, in total there were three dozen explosions from shell bursts and more than a dozen - from mines. The fire came from the russian settlements of hornal and huevo.

Later, the enemy from the russian settlement of yelizavetovka released about two dozen 120 mm mines on the territory of the Khotin community.

11 mines of 120 mm caliber fired from the side of the enemy settlement of khodeikove exploded in the border area of the Nova Sloboda community.

17 artillery shells fired by the russians from the area of the village of zernove exploded in the border area of the Seredyna-Buda community.

27 artillery shells fired by the enemy from the area of the village of znob exploded in the border area of the Znob-Novhorodske community.

Also, twice a day, the enemy covered the territory of the Bilopillia community with 120-mm mortars, in total almost three dozen hits. The fire came from the russian settlement of tiotkino. As a result of enemy shelling, one residential building was destroyed, fortunately there were no casualties.
