Border guards of the Main Operational and Search Department of the Separate BCP “Kyiv” learned about a possible illegal scheme. According to them, an inspection of a shipment that arrived from Thailand was carried out. Border guards and customs officers found a processed green stone, 1 by 1 cm square, in the package. It is most likely an emerald and costs more than $ 10,000, although the accompanying documents state that the stone is of artificial origin and costs $ 22 USA.

The stone was removed for a gemological examination. Currently, customs officers are drawing up a report on violations of customs regulations.
