The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine paid a visit to the border guards in Orshanets

During his trip to Cherkasy region, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov visited the Major General Ihor Momot Main Staff Training Centre of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

On behalf of all Ukrainian parliamentarians he thanked the centre staff for their loyal service and hard work. “In recent years, value of the Ukrainian army has increased greatly and, unfortunately, Ukraine has paid a high price for this understanding. It is very important for me, as a citizen, that our border guards stand sentinel throughout the border of Ukraine. Today, we are doing our best for this, so I hope that you will soon be protecting the peaceful border of Ukraine,” Dmytro Razumkov stressed.

The head of parliament also awarded the center and some representatives of its staff with Verkhovna Rada honours. Also Lieutenant Colonel Roman Fedorchuk, Captain Vitalii Hryb and Senior Warrant Officer Olexandr Hlushchenko were awarded for personal courage, dedication and high professionalism in line of duty, conscientious and impeccable service to the Ukrainian people.

During the festivities, Dmytry Razumkov and guests, laying flowers at the Monument to border guards of all generations and at the bust of Hero of Ukraine Major General Ihor Momot, honored the defenders who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of Ukraine.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada also visited the Central Museum of the State Border Guard Service, reviewed all the training facilities, got acquainted with the system of junior staff training, practical organization and conducting of classes, social and living conditions of the border guards. The guests were shown the elements of unmanned aerial vehicle operators training, as well as the work of the Center for Combating the Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction, where they inspected training classes on detection of chemical-hazardous substances, means of transportation of weapons of mass destruction components and radiometric laboratories.
