The second-year cadets of the Naval Institute of the National University “Odessa Naval Academy”, who arrived a week ago for an internship in the Odessa Marine Guard Detachment, have already gone to sea and continue to master the wisdom of the border service.

Going to sea on combat duty to protect the state border, control the regime of navigation in the territorial sea, coverage of the surface situation, all these everyday tasks of the naval staff are considered by the cadets as a special event and cause genuine admiration, despite all the difficulties.

18 second-year cadets are gaining practical skills in certain specialties and positions, but the youth curiosity and thirst for mastery of practice at sea encourage them to learn as many professional secrets and life hacks as possible from experienced border guards.

The desire to be full members of the team is sincerely welcomed by the crews, where future specialists practice, and the newly created temporary crew members try to do their best.

At the same time, as the cadets say, they did not expect to be given so much attention. After all, they receive help and care in virtually everything - from serious business to any of the smallest household issues. Thus, young people are personally convinced that the State Border Guard Service values ​​and respects every border guard, takes care of them. And although they will become border guards in a few years, after graduation, they have already formed their first impressions and a deep understanding of the prestige of the profession.

The guys are keenly interested in literally everything related to the service in the Maritime Guard and the specifics of the protection of maritime borders of the state, show good theoretical training, skilfully apply the knowledge in practice, so there is hope and confidence that in three years at the Institute, the ship and boat structure of the Marine Guard of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine will be replenished with worthy young officers.

In the meantime, there are two more weeks of exciting immersion into the depths of the Marine Guard Service.
