The other day, due to the skilful actions of the personnel of the Department of Internal and Own Security of Berdiansk Border Guard Detachment, as part of the criminal proceedings under Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Illegal production, manufacture, purchase, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues”, the illegal scheme of drug distribution among servicemen of the Department has been stopped.

In particular, the criminal actions of the officer of Berdiansk Border Guard Detachment have been documented in the process of his selling the especially dangerous psychotropic substance PVP to other servicemen of the detachment.

The border guard  has been detained according to Article 208 of Code of Criminal Procedure by the internal and own security forces of Berdiansk Border Guard Detachment together with employees of the Principal Directorate of Military Counterintelligence of the Counterintelligence Department of the Secirity Service of Ukraine, Zaporizhzhia Department of Internal  Security of  the National Police of Ukraine  and investigators of the territorial administration of the State Bureau of Investigation located in Melitopol under the procedural guidance of the Zaporizhzhia Military Prosecutor's Office.

A serviceman faces criminal liability for selling drugs. Immediate investigative actions are underway, as well as measures are being taken to identify all servicemen who has purchased drugs from the person involved in the case and used them personally.
