For more than ten years, Andriy Stepanov, a border guard of the Eastern Regional Directorate, has been serving in the ranks of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

In addition to official achievements, Andrii Stepanov achieved considerable results in sports. Andrii has represented the State Border Guard Service at sports competitions since 2017 and has been awarded the title of Master of Sports of Ukraine.

At this year's Ukrainian powerlifting championship, which took place from 23 to 26 July in the Mangush village of Donetsk Region, border guard Andrii Stepanov became a silver medalist. At this tournament, Andrii set his personal record, gaining 685 kg in the sum of three exercises.

 “It was not easy enough,” admits the border guard, “because quite often after a gruelling and difficult service at the border, sometimes, even without rest, you need to go to the gym to avoid losing physical shape.” However, the border guard claims that both service and sports bring him only pleasure.
