Within the framework of carrying out the measures on counteracting crimes against public security operatives of Lutsk border detachment had received information regarding the inhabitant of the settlement Zabolottya, Volyn region, about storage of unregistered firearms and ammunition in his apartments. To conduct the necessary joint proceedings the Internal Affairs units were immediately informed.

The police sent a petition to the court on making a search in the apartment of this citizen. Later, as the chief of Ratne District Police Division, Jaroslav Solomonyuk, stated, police found firearms without any documents, and ammunition at his house. Even drugs were found there.Law enforcement officers designated that 50- year-old man is a citizen of the Russian Federation. He is currently married to a local resident. After being asked where he got so many weapons, the Russian said that it was bequeathed by his father.In general, the police seized six rifles, sawn-off rifle, revolver, pounds of gunpowder, more than two hundred rounds of ammunition of various calibers, about 1 kg of plant matter etc.

Now confiscated things are sent for examination at the research center at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Volyn region.
