FRONTEX is an international organization whose recognition is the protection of freedom, security and justice, the guarantee of a free movement zone without checks at the EU's internal borders, the fight against cross-border crime and assistance in preventing terrorist attacks.

The other day a briefing was held at the “Bachivsk” port of entry with the participation of the staff of the Sumy border guard detachment and representatives of the FRONTEX Agency as part of the joint operation “Coordination Points. Land area 2021”.

The participants of the briefing got familiar with the procedure for organizing and conducting the above-mentioned joint operation at the international road checkpoints, in particular at the "Bachivsk" port of entry, with the participation of representatives of the border guard agencies of the European Union member states.

The staff deputy chief - chief of the border guard department of Sumy border guard detachment lephtenant colonel Ruslan Savchuk said that cooperation with FRONTEX is important to bring border guard management systems in line with EU standards and practices. "The State Border Guard Service is gaining best practices in exploring the potential of border management to achieve the dual goal of improving security and simplifying control operations at checkpoints,” said Ruslan Savchuk.

At the end of the event, Chiarizia Angelo, senior member of the FRONTEX delegation, noted the high level of preparation for the briefing, thanked for the fruitful cooperation and for a meaningful presentation of the “Bachivsk” checkpoint and the activities of the State Border Guard Service in general.
