Borderguards together with detectives of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine withdrew illegal tobacco products the cost of which is estimated at 11.6 million UAH.

Law enforcement officers found 266,530 thousand packs of cigarettes during the search in Odesa warehouses and cars used for transportation and storage of cigarettes.

The tobacco products were packed in packages with logos of well-known brands, warning inscriptions in English as well as notes that they are intended for sale in duty-free shops.

The offenders sold cigarettes without the necessary permits in retail outlets in Odesa and Odesa region.

There is an elucidation of the origin of the withdrawn tobacco products and the persons involved in the illegal business. A pre-trial investigation into the illegal fraud with excisable goods was initiated.
