According to law enforcement officers, a citizen of Ukraine, a resident of Lviv, has been smuggling items of cultural value abroad for a long time.

As part of the criminal proceedings, the officers of the operational unit of Lviv Border Guard Detachment together with investigators of the Main Directorate of the Management of the Security Service of Ukraine in Lviv oblast under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor's office in Lviv oblast have liquidated the channel of smuggling cultural values from Ukraine to the EU and Russia.

According to law enforcement officers, a citizen of Ukraine, a resident of Lviv, has been smuggling items of cultural value abroad for a long time.

And the offender did it with the help of international mail, hiding the goods among other things. The latter searched for his clients on specialized sites of the Internet.

In September one of such parcels was confiscated by border guards at the customs post in Lviv during the control operation.

At present, the ingenious businessman has been declared a suspect in committing a criminal offense under Art. 201 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Smuggling” and a precautionary measure has been taken.

According to the sanction of the article, the latter faces imprisonment from three to seven years.
