The State Border Service of Ukraine adopts systematic measures on combating with illegal activities attempts on the State border.

However, such measures induce strong resistance of illegal activities organizers and their accomplices. Simultaneously, offenders behave brazenly, сommit non-compliance with the lawful demands of border guards, try to attack border patrols. These things have already led to the death of law enforcers.

Yesterday, on 21th of November violators took another attempt to avoid responsibility in Chernivtsi region. In this case, they threatened the lives of border guard again.

Border patrol detected the group of unknown persons, who tried to transfer cigarettes from Moldova to Ukraine for further loading on vehicle with foreign registration plates. 

The violators, having noticed the border guards and tried to escape by cars. While attempted detention escapees ignored the legal requirements of border protectors and drove the vehicle at border guards.

Law enforcers used weapon according to Ukrainian legislation. Even warning shots did not stop law breakers. Offender’s vehicle drove towards the settlement «Hvizdkivtsi»

About that fact border guards informed the representatives of law enforcement agencies in Chernivtsi region and Modovian National Police.

Later, serviceman of Ukrainian National Police provided information about three civil people with gunshot wounds who went to district hospital.

Head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Serhii Deineko is gone to Chernivtsi border detachment area to establish the circumstances of the offense. For now, with the cooperation of other law enforcement agencies all the violators are tried to be detected. The further investigation continues.
