The head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine paid a working visit to Chernihiv Region. He got acquainted with the strengthening of the border with russia and belarus.

Serhii Deineko noted that the situation remains tense, because russian army does not stop shelling the territory of the region and threatens not only the Ukrainian defenders but also the civilians. For their part, border guards are building up their defensive capabilities in order to prevent the enemy from passing through in case of a second attempted invasion. Strengthening is also taking place on the border with the russian federation and in the direction of belarus, which supports the enemy’s actions, and from where columns of russian equipment also invaded in February. At the same time, there are currently no changes in the aggressor’s actions.

“Subdivisions of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine clearly understand the directions where the enemy may try to invade Ukraine again, so these routes are equipped with engineering barriers as much as possible. Border guards have strengthened and continue to build up the defense system, build positions, places of concealment and constantly monitor the situation on the approaches to the Ukrainian border,” the head of the State Border Service of Ukraine said.

The head of the department discussed at length with local leaders and personnel the issue of increasing defense capabilities, providing units and necessary requirements.

He added that no matter how the occupiers try to break our spirit, we must be as ready and concentrated as possible.

“The enemy is testing us, but he has already felt our resilience. Thank you for your service, thank you for your courage. This is where our nation begins and we must defend it. The aggressor is treacherous, so we must do everything that brings us closer to victory,” stressed Serhii Deineko, speaking to the border guards.
