Operational and preventive measures "Rubizh - 2022" have begun in the area of the Mukachevo Border Guard Detachment, which provide for the strengthening of measures aimed at countering illegal activities at the border.

As part of these measures, border guards of the "Bodalovo" section stopped an attempt to move 24 boxes of cigarettes across the border.

At a distance of 30 meters from the border, the detail saw people carrying packages wrapped in black polyethylene. Having noticed the border guards, the intruders tried to escape, but one of them was detained immediately, the other - during the search. The men tried to smuggle 12,000 packs of cigarettes across the border without Ukrainian excise tax stamps.

Currently, the border guards are establishing a circle of persons involved in the organization of illegal circulation

at the border. Regarding the detainees, protocols have been drawn up about their committing an administrative offense, provided for in Article 204-1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses "Illegal crossing or attempted illegal crossing of the state border of Ukraine."

The tobacco products were delivered to the Border Guard unit, later they will be handed over to the customs officials.
