"Rubizh 2022": in Bukovyna, 11 men were detained for attempting to violate the border, tobacco products were seized

During two days, in the framework of operational and preventive measures "Rubizh 2022", border guards of the Chernivtsi Detachment detained 11 citizens of Ukraine who tried to get to Romania and Moldova outside the BCPs.

In particular, during the implementation of the preliminary information, officers of the operational units of the Chernivtsi Detachment together with the border patrol of the Kelmentsi Division yesterday afternoon detained 3 men of military age, residents of Ternopil and Kharkiv regions.

The car "Skoda" with Ukrainian registration, which the offenders were driving, was stopped for inspection at one of the BCPs in Dnistrovskyi district of Chernivtsi region. The men could not explain to border guards the purpose of their stay in the controlled border area, and later admitted their intention to cross illegally the border.

At the same time, border guards of the Sokyriany, Kelmentsi, Porubne Divisions in five cases detained eight more servicemen who were illegally trying to cross the state border. The border violators were residents of Kharkiv, Donetsk and Kyiv regions.

All offenders were taken to border guard units for prosecution.

In another case, according to the operational information, border guards detained a citizen of Ukraine, who was trying to illegally deliver tobacco products to the border in his own car "Audi". The offender's vehicle and 5 boxes of cigarettes without excise stamps of Ukraine were detained at the area of responsibility of the Border Guard Division "Falkiv". According to preliminary estimates, the value of the seized tobacco exceeds 100 thousand hryvnias. After execution of the relevant documents, the citizen and the goods were handed over to the police.
