The events taking place in Ukraine are not left behind by the international community and representatives of foreign diplomatic missions and organizations.

Recently, the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Rozumkov and the Chairman of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania Victoria Chmilite-Nielsen paid a working visit to the administrative border with the temporarily occupied Crimea.

The high-ranking officials were acquainted with the functioning of the Chonhar and Kalanchak entry exit checkpoints (EECP), the procedure for carrying out access operations, infrastructure and conditions for border guards.

Dmytro Razumkov noted: “We have never supported or recognized the annexation of Crimea and we hope that very soon the exit-entry checkpoints will remain only in memory and the Ukrainian people will be able to move freely throughout Ukraine. I am sure that very soon this place will become a museum and we are making great efforts to make it happen as soon as possible.”

Victoria Chmilite-Nielsen, in turn, said: "Lithuanian people always support our sincere friends, Ukrainians, they fully support the territorial integrity of Ukraine and hope for a speedy return of the occupied territories of Ukraine."

The other day, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Poland to Ukraine Bartosz Cichotski, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Ukraine Cristian-Leon Turcanu and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Republic of Estonia to Ukraine Kaimo Kuusko together with the Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine were on a working visit to Crimea to the administrative border with the temporarily occupied Crimea.

During the meeting, they discussed issues related to the socio-political situation in the region and directly on the administrative border with the temporarily occupied Crimea. The foreign delegates noted the important role of the State Border Guard Service in this area and thanked the officials for their conscientious work.

The newly appointed Army Attaché at the US Embassy in Ukraine Colonel Brandon Presley, the Army Attaché at the US Embassy in Ukraine Colonel Paul Schmitt, Defense Attaché at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden in Ukraine Captain 1st Rank Björn Vilbern, Defense Attaché at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark in Ukraine Captain 1st Rank Felix Ebbestad, Defense Attaché at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway in Ukraine Lieutenant Colonel Boye Lillerud visited the demarcation line to familiarize themselves with the current security and operational situation in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area.

Accompanied by the JFO Command, the Executive Officer of the Luhansk Border Guard Detachment Lieutenant Colonel Bohdan Ihnatiuk and the Chief of the Luhansk Border Guard Detachment Colonel Yurii Petriv, the guests visited Stanytsia Luhanska and Zolote EECP.

Delegates were told about the EECP operation mode, control and inspection procedures for persons and vehicles and the peculiarities of crossing the demarcation line during quarantine restrictions.

“A total of 7 such crossing points are equipped on the demarcation line, but today only one works daily in Stanytsia Luhanska. The movement of the rest of the road corridors is blocked by the Russian occupation forces. It should be noted that traffic on this road corridor is also given to citizens with difficulties that are artificially created by the occupiers. As early as mid-autumn, we began to see a significant reduction in passenger traffic at this checkpoint, and this is also due to the actions of pro-Russian troops. They seem to be trying to "shut down" our citizens in the occupation, each time inventing some incomprehensible restrictions or rules for Ukrainians to continue living in Russian propaganda. "Back in the summer, the Stanytsia Luhanska EECP was crossed by about three thousand citizens a day, and today it is difficult for us to talk about even half a thousand," Bohdan Ihnatiuk told foreign guests.

Also, during the visit to the EECP, the delegates had questions about the distance from the checkpoint to the Russian occupation forces, how border guards act in case of an armed attack by the Russian occupation forces during the stay of civilians in the EECP and after the checkpoint, how to transport citizens. to the demarcation line and in the opposite direction and why individuals are not able to move along this humanitarian road corridor.

Yurii Petriv acquainted the guests with all aspects of control and verification procedures and the peculiarities of the functioning of the Zolote EECP. He stressed that the border guards of the Luhansk Border Guard Detachment are ready at any moment to start passing citizens across the demarcation line in both directions.

“Last year, we registered three people in the direction of the temporarily occupied territory, but they were not able to cross the demarcation line. They were deployed by the Russian occupation forces without any explanation. Today we allow only local residents to pass, “Yurii Petrovych said. He assured that the security of the civilian population is a priority for border guards and, in the event of an aggravation of the situation, the military has sufficient equipment and skills to prevent civilian casualties. “Every day, this EECP crosses about 300 people and 100 vehicles. All of them are residents of Katerynivka and Zolote-4 villages. We work for them around the clock, so that, in case of armed aggression, all citizens can quickly leave the settlements located in the so-called gray zone, and we can help them get to a safe place,” said Yurii Petriv.
