The first multinational exercise “COSSACK MACE – 2021” has recently taken place at the Shyrokyi Lan shooting range.

Colleagues from Great Britain, Canada, Sweden, the USA, representatives of Operation ORBITAL and the UNIFIER military training mission took part in the exercises with the Ukrainian military. Servicemen of the Belgorod-Dniester Rapid Reaction Border Command took part in the exercises together with units from the Armed Forces of our country.

For two weeks, the border guards learned to act and interact with their teammates from the Land Forces and partners from the armies of the North Atlantic Alliance. The exercises were held according to NATO standards, taking into account the experience of our military forces gained during the anti-terrorist operation/environmental protection. Instructors of the UNIFIER mission and the 235th interbranch training centre for military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine trained the participants.

During the exercises, the actions of the units in defence and offence were practiced. The officers worked out algorithms for making military decisions according to NATO standards, and the joint work of multinational headquarters.

Among other things, during “COSSACK MACE – 2021” border guards trained to detect saboteurs, defend the state border, as well as regain control over the border, which was won back from a conventional enemy with the support of the Armed Forces and partners.
