The State Border Guard Service effectively counteracts illegal activities at the border. One of the most problematic issues for the western part of the Ukrainian border remains the illegal movement of tobacco products to EU countries.

On the eve of the professional holiday of the Day of the Border Guard of Ukraine, border guards received another batch of charitable assistance under the Memorandum signed on August 17, 2020 between JT International Company Ukraine and the State Border Guard Service.

The list of equipment provided to border guards included a quadcopter, more than two dozen photo traps and other effective technical means.

All equipment will be used to combat illegal activities at the border.

It should be noted that since the beginning of 2021 alone, border guards have identified and seized almost 2 million packs of smuggled cigarettes.

Representatives of tobacco companies state that Ukraine is a reliable barrier to the illicit trafficking of tobacco products. They highly appreciate the work of the State Border Guard Service in this direction and note the effectiveness of measures taken by border guards, whose actions significantly reduce the share of illegal tobacco in the EU and contribute to the detection of cross-border organized groups.
