Twenty border guards from Chernihiv, Lutsk, Mohyliv-Podilskyi, Podilskyi, Izmail, Odesa, Kherson, and Berdyansk border guard detachments updated and deepened their knowledge as helmsmen during the month.

The course had a busy program - more than 120 hours of necessary theoretical training and more than 20 hours of practical training on the water.

Roman Brusanovsky, the current commander of the small naval cutter, skillfully told about the structure and tactical and technical characteristics of border cutters, purpose and composition of fixed and moving parts of outboard and stationary engines, about the peculiarities of their trouble-free operation and safety measures.

“During the training we gained new skills, enriched our knowledge in the specialty, exchanged experiences about the features of water borders in different regions of our country. Such courses provide an opportunity to really update and deepen knowledge and enrich the experience of practice under the guidance of experienced teachers. And this increases the combat readiness of the unit, because the skillful maintenance and management of the cutter is the key to a quick and effective response to the situation at the border,” said Vyacheslav Didenko, a graduate of the course.

Upon completion of the course, students passed a comprehensive exam and received the relevant certificates confirming their readiness and admission to self-driving border guard cutters.
