PERSONS RETURNING FROM THE CORONAVIRUS AFFECTED COUNTRIES MUST BE PLACED UNDER OBSERVATION

This condition is provided by the new amendments to the CMU Resolution No. 211 “On Prevention of COVID-19 Coronavirus Spread on the Territory of Ukraine”, which were adopted on March 29 at the Government meeting.

According to the information, received from the Department of Communication of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, persons returning from a country / region with coronavirus local transmission in the community are considered to have had contact with a COVID-19 infected person. Therefore, it is obligatory to undergo a 14-day observation in specialized facilities, determined by the Kyiv City, Regional State Administrations.

In addition, according to the government decision persons who had a contact with a a COVID-19 infected person, or who have the disease and do not require hospitalization must self-isolate. This means that for the period set by the physician, one must refrain from contacting other persons (other than those with whom they cohabitate) and visiting public places.

At the same time, placed of food, hygiene, medicines, medical supplies and health care facilities may be urgently visited, provided personal protective equipment and a distance of at least 1.5 meters are ensured.

It is also worth noting that by April 5, 2020, an electronic service to monitor citizens' self-isolation or observation must have been established in Ukraine.
