The busiest facilities are the THFs of Chop, Lviv and Mukachevo Border Guard Detachments.

Servicemen of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine in the period from 5 to 9 October underwent training on practical aspects of temporary detention of foreigners in the Republic of Poland at the invitation of the Border Guard General Command of the Republic of Poland.

The training took place in the Podlaskie Detachment of Polish Border Guard in Bilostok. Polish colleagues shared their knowledge and demonstrated in practice the procedure for organizing the protection of foreigners in the detention centre. The role and tasks of such sections as administrative services, education for juveniles in places of detention, organization of service and communication with detainees, as well as other relevant topics in this area were considered.

It should be noted that the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has a total of 46 Temporary Holding Facilities (THF) for administrative detainees. The THFs are designed to hold more than 320 people at a time.

Since the beginning of 2020, more than 1,150 detainees have been held in temporary holding facilities. For comparison, for the same period in 2019 - more than one and a half thousand people.
