On February 26, Ukraine will celebrate the Day of Resistance to the Occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.

As the head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Serhii Deineko noted, entry-exit checkpoints are always open to those who had faced Russian aggression, and be it further border guards are ready to make a stand for them at any time.

He also noted that the administrative border with temporarily occupied Crimea was crossed annually by more than 2.5 million citizens. However, in 2020, due to the pandemic, the number of border crossings decreased.

“We are doing everything necessary to ensure that Crimeans can quickly and comfortably cross the administrative border with the occupied territory,” the head of the state Border Service emphasized.

“The only way to stop Russia's aggression is to continue its resistance. Our path to victory is struggle,” said Serhii Deineko.

It is worth recalling that on February 26, 2014, a rally in support of the territorial integrity of Ukraine was held in Simferopol. To honor this date, to support the courage and heroism of Ukrainian citizens living in the temporarily occupied territory – in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea (ARC) and the city of Sevastopol, the Office of the President of Ukraine, the Representative Office of the president of Ukraine in the ARC, the Ministry for Reintegration, the Ministry for Culture and Information policy of Ukraine and the DOM TV channel organized a telethon dedicated to the Day of Resistance to the occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of  Sevastopol. The marathon is planned to involve the public, including Crimeans, government officials, and experts.
