Three Ukrainian citizens who organized the transportation of military conscripts were arrested in Chernivtsi region

Operational units of the Chernivtsi Border Guard Detachment, with the support of the special mobile unit DOZOR and in cooperation with the National Police of Chernivtsi Region, under the procedural guidance of the Chernivtsi Region Prosecutor's Office, conducted measures to expose violators of the law.

The co-organizer, leader, and three conscripts evading from military service were detained within the area of responsibility of Nyzhni Petrivtsi Border Guard Inspectors Section of Chernivtsi Detachment. The detainees were residents of Sumy and Chernivtsi Regions.

As part of the criminal investigation, the operatives of the Chernivtsi BG Detachment established that a local resident, who organized the transportation of three conscripts to Romania, received a reward of 3,000 to 5,000 euros for each.

The men were detained by a joint interdepartmental group when receiving the money for illegal transportation. Two vehicles used by the offenders to travel to the border were also seized.

In addition, the suspect in the criminal case residing in the city of Chernivtsi was notified of suspicion. During the search at his place of residence, law enforcement officers seized documents, mobile terminals, and money obtained by criminal means.

For illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine, the men face imprisonment for a term of 7 to 9 years.
