Ukrainian border guards in Odesa jointly with the National Police stopped a channel for smuggling people of military age across the state border.

The operatives found out that the organizer of the criminal scheme was a 32-year-old resident of Odesa. He was looking for people willing to leave the territory of Ukraine for money through social networks and messengers. In addition, the offender personally planned the routes and time of crossing the border outside the border crossing points. He demanded USD 3.5 thousand from his “clients” for his services.

During a search of the “businessman's” residence, law enforcement officers confiscated money received as an advance payment for illegal border crossing, and found evidence of his involvement in criminal activity, including the correspondence with the “clients”.

The law enforcement officers detained the organizer of the human smuggling channel. He has been served a notice of suspicion. There is an invrstigation into this case.

The operation was carried out by operatives of the Odesa Border Guard Detachment jointly with the National Police investigators under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of Odesa region.
