Border guards of Chop detachment prevented an attempt to illegally transfer a batch of duty-free tobacco products from Ukraine to Hungary.

While implementing the information, operatives of the detachment discovered the movement of two people in the direction of the state border in the section of "Salovka" branch.

The border guards started chasing the unknowns. Noticing the law enforcement officers, they abandoned their packages and fled in the direction of the village of Esen, Uzhhorod district.

In the packages left by the offenders, 4,000 packs of contraband cigarettes without Ukrainian excise stamps were found. They were taken to the border unit.

Currently, measures are being taken to identify the persons involved in crime.
