On June 4-8, 2021, the day of the final matches took place at the European Licensing Tournament in Paris. Almost 170 athletes from 37 countries took part in the decisive fights.

The leader of the Ukrainian national boxing team, Oleksandr Khyzhniak, an employee of the State Border Guard Service, won that tournament.

In the final of the Olympic selection in the weight category up to 75 kg, Oleksander Khyzhniak defeated the Russian sportsman Hlib Baksha. With this victory, Oleksander won a license to participate in the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

It should be noted that this is not the first victory of the border guard over the Russian athlete. Two years ago, Khyzhniak confidently defeated him in the quarterfinals of the II European Games in Minsk.

By the way, border guard Oleksandr Khyzhniak has been in the sports team of the State Border Guard Service as an athlete-instructor since 2015 and shares his sports experience with border guards.

We are proud of our athlete! Congratulations on the victory and we wish further prizes!!!
