A two-day meeting with officers who graduated in 2023 took place on the basis of one of the boder crossing points at the Ukrainian-Polish border.

Young officers were briefed on the peculiarities of border control during a state of war, the specifics and trends of entry operations on the western border, as well as the formation of a common understanding regarding the provision of fast and comfortable crossing of the border by citizens.

“Considering the fact that our country is confronting an aggressor, and the graduation of officers has become accelerated, there is little time for young specialists to assimilate into new positions. But we believe in them and we will provide them with the necessary assistance to develop at officer positions,”  noted Ihor Matviychuk, head of the Border Control Organization Department of the Western Regional Directorate.

Newly arrived officers were also briefed on the operation of databases, modern technical tools for border control and communication, and the procedures for their use. They were reminded of legal requirements related to border control, administrative and jurisdictional activities, anti-corruption measures, and other related matter.

«At a time when thousands of our border guards are performing tasks in the east of the country and defending the northern borders of our Motherland, we must do everything we can to ensure high-quality protection of the western border,» said Viktor Babiuk, head of the Western Regional Directorate.
