NONOBSERVANCE OF LEGAL REQUIREMENTS OF BORDER GUARDS TO STOP VEHICLES IN BORDER AREA ENTAILS ADMINISTRATIVE LIABILITY

The other day, border guards of the Sumy Border Guard Detachment detained an offender, who did not comply with the legal requirements of law enforcement officials to stop the vehicle in the border area.

The other day, border guards of the Sumy Border Guard Detachment detained an offender, who did not comply with the legal requirements of law enforcement officials to stop the vehicle in the border area.

The border patrol, which was on duty on the outskirts of Hrabovske village in the Krasnopillia district attempted to stop a VAZ car moving in the direction of the village of Krasnopillia. However, the driver of the vehicle did not comply with the legal requirements of the border patrol and continued to move on.

Border guards immediately began the pursuit and soon they caught up and stopped the escapee. He turned out to be a local resident of Hrabovske. The man refused to explain his actions to law enforcement officials.

Currently, administrative materials under Art. 185-10 UCAO were compiled as to 25-year-old resident of the border area for malicious disobedience to a lawful order or demand of a serviceman of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. His future fate will be decided by the court.

In accordance with the Cabinet of Ministers Resolution of July 27, 1998 No.1147 “On the Border Regime”, authorized persons of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine can stop and inspect vehicles while performing tasks in the border zone and controlled border area. A driver must stop the vehicle in compliance with the rules at the place indicated to him, as well as: to produce identity papers of the driver and passengers for inspection, registration document for the vehicle and give the opportunity to check the vehicle and to compare the numbers of aggregates.
