On the border with Romania, border guards from the Dyakove department of the Mukachevo detachment, together with customs officers, prevented an attempt to smuggle a large consignment of cigarettes across the border.

A 37-year-old citizen of Ukraine, who arrived at the checkpoint Dyakove, tried to hide tobacco products from law enforcement officers in Peugeot minibus at about 5 o'clock in the morning. The man was going to Germany. Given that the vehicle fell under departmental risk profiles, border guards decided to inspect it in depth. During a joint inspection with customs officers, 6,260 packs of cigarettes were found in the double bottom of the vehicle.

Smuggled tobacco and a vehicle were confiscated from a Ukrainian citizen. The amount of the assessment of cigarettes was over 292 thousand UAH, and the minibus - 263.4 thousand UAH.
