Law enforcement officers detected criminals who were involved in the illegal production of alcoholic beverages, which, among other items, endanger human life and health.

According to the investigation, residents of two localities in Sumy region organized the sale of illegally produced ethyl alcohol and the illegal manufacturing of alcoholic beverages. Their actions have features of crimes. As a result of the conducted searches, the law enforcement officers revealed and confiscated the counterfeit products, including almost 1 thousand liters of vodka, 280 liters of brandy, 970 liters of alcohol, 39 cartons of cigarettes without excise stamps, 2 vehicles used to transport the illegally produced goods, and UAH 1 million 85 thousand. The investigators also found a TOZ-66 rifle and ammunition, which the individuals were illegally holding at their place of residence.

The operation was conducted by a joint interagency group consisting of officers of the operational and search units of the State Border Guard Service, officers of the Strategic Investigations Department in Sumy region of the NPU Department of Strategic Investigations and investigators of the Investigation Department of Sumy Regional Police under the supervision of the Sumy Regional Prosecutor's Office.

Currently, the confiscated products have been transferred for expert examination, after which a decision will be taken to charge the persons involved in the criminal scheme. The investigation is currently in progress.
