During the day, border guards of Chernivtsi Border Guard Detachment detained 4 traffickers and 16 men liable for military service who were trying to illegally enter Romania and Moldova.

During the night, military personnel of Krasnoilsk Border Guard Division detained 6 border violators, while verifying the information received from the operational officers of the border guard detachment. The so-called tourists risked their own safety trying to reach Romania through remote and snow-covered areas of the Ukrainian Carpathians. The border guards were informed in advance about the arrival of the potential violators into the border regime zone. Border guards spotted and consequently detained two separate groups of violators moving towards the state border two hours apart. As a result of the search operations, border guards also found 4 smugglers who organized the illegal transportation and a vehicle. One of the violators turned out to be a minor.

Another 10 offenders who were trying to illegally cross the state border were discovered and detained by border guards of Seliatyn and Kelmentsi Border Guard Divisions. The offenders were residents of Dnipropetrovsk, Chernivtsi, and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.

The violators were taken to border guard units to bring them to administrative responsibility. A report on the detection of signs of a criminal offense was sent to the National Police to hold the smugglers accountable for their actions.
