The criminal group involved in the illegal transportation of people across the border will appear in court in Transcarpathian Region.

In mid-April 2022, operatives of Mukacheve borderguard detachment together with counterintelligence officers of the Security Service of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region detained three citizens of Ukraine near the border, when they were transporting three men of conscription age to Romania.

The employees of the main department of the operative and investigative department of Mukacheve borderguard detachment identified the organizer of the crime. He turned out to be a 56-year-old resident of the Tiachiv district, who searched for potential conscript "clients" and, with the help of two other henchmen, systematically transported them across the border by Tisza River. The man evaluated his services at 5-6 thousand euros per person.

All three participants in the criminal scheme were notified of suspicion.

Currently, the case materials with the indictment have already been sent to the court.

The organizer and his other accomplices face imprisonment for a term of seven to nine years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years with confiscation of property for the crime committed.

The events were conducted under the procedural guidance of Transcarpathian Regional Prosecutor's Office together with representatives of the National Police.
