Meeting of the Contact Virtual Analytical Center (CVAC) has been conducted in the State Border Service of Ukraine on September 14. The main topic of the meeting was to discuss issues concerning the practical implementation of the Integrated Border Management (IBM) Action Plan, which was approved on August 31 this year by the Government.

This event gathered representatives of Administration of the State Border Service, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Infrastructure, State Migration Service, State Fiscal Service, Security Service, National Guard, National Police of Ukraine and experts of The European Union Advisory Mission (EUAM).

The details of the above plan implementation, procedure for reporting and clarified indicators and benchmarks for each task in view of responsibility of the each integrated border management actors were discussed at the meeting.

It should be noted that the CVAC is a multi- agency working body for proper coordination activity related to the IBM in Ukraine. It was created by the Joint Order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Infrastructure, Ministry of Finance and Security Service of Ukraine from 01.09.2015 № 1050/254/341/749/562 "On approval of the exchange of information and analytical materials between actors of integrated border management".

Due to its work in 2015 – 2016 the Concept of IBM and Action Plan for its implementation have been developed and subsequently adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

EUAM’s Head of the Strategic Civilian Security Sector Reform Component, Brian Richard said that Action Plan is a sign that Ukraine is making progress in implementing IBM and we will continue to provide advice, training and other assistance to the main actors in IBM in Ukraine partners when it comes to its implementation.
