The ships and boats of the Maritime Guard More covered more than one and a half thousand nautical miles, patrolling the territorial sea, the adjacent and exclusive (maritime) economic zone in the Black and Azov Seas and on the Danube River last weekend.

During the weekend, about 200 targets were acquired and identified, 16 coastal and foreign vessels were interviewed, and 20 vessels and floating crafts were inspected.

According to the results of the inspection, 4 administrative offenses related to non-compliance with the border regime, as well as 3 offenses related to non-compliance with the rules of use of wildlife objects were identified and terminated. 14 people were brought to administrative responsibility.

Thus, in the Black Sea, in the E(m)EZ of Ukraine, in places of seasonal spawning accumulation of flounder turbot, a ship of the Marine Guard found a typical flounder net 250 m long. Maritime border guards released 11 flounder from the nets, and stray nets were removed in the prescribed manner.

Fishing vessels were twice found in the Sea of Azov, on which Ukrainian citizens illegally caught aquatic bioresources in Henichesk and Berdiansk districts. At the same time, in the first case it was 23 flounder and 10 pelengas caught with prohibited nets, and in the second case 2 fish of valuable sturgeon species and about 500 kg of common tulle caught by a prohibited trawling method were found in the vessel.

Fishing for infringing vessels was stopped, and fishermen were brought to administrative responsibility for violating the border regime and rules for the use of wildlife.

The fishermen caught their catch illegally. So he and all fishing gear - more than 100 meters of nets and trawls - were confiscated.

The total amount of damage to the state from such poaching is almost 136 thousand UAH. In addition, the National Police was notified under Art. 249 of the Criminal code of Ukraine “Illegal employment in fish, animal or other water extractive industry”.
