Mastering the skills of tactical medicine is crucial for everyone today.

The other day, members of the Maritime Guard took courses on providing emergency first aid according to the MARCH algorithm.

The training took place on the basis of the Odesa Regional Center of Public Health, under the leadership of the instructor of the educational and training department, Pavlo Dziuba.

During three days, the participants of the classes learned in practice to provide first and emergency aid, acting according to the specified algorithm. The ability to apply tourniquets was brought to automatism, and ways to stop bleeding correctly and quickly with the help of improvised means were considered.

Intubation was practiced with the help of special equipment. A lot of attention was paid to the use of means of providing airway patency, the installation of various types of supralaryngeal airways.

The skills of providing aid in the presence of primary and secondary injuries, pneumothorax, hemothorax, massive bleeding, chest wounds, signs of hemorrhagic shock, skeletal damage, etc. were practiced.

The ability to work in a team is important. Therefore, the sequence of actions in the team was also honed taking into account different circumstances. They also learned to sort the wounded according to the severity of the injury.

Every second is important. After all, timely and correctly provided first aid in critical situations can save lives.
