Border guards of the Chop border guard detachment prevented an attempt to smuggle tobacco products into EU countries.

During the inspection of the Mercedes truck, headed through the “Uzhhorod” border crossing point from Ukraine to Slovakia, the border guard detail noticed changes in the technical voids of the car. Later, border guards detected a hiding place in the truck, which was arranged in tool boxes. 150 packs of tobacco products with Ukrainian excise were found in the hiding place.

The detected tobacco products estimated at more than UAH 10,000 were seized by customs officials. They also seized a truck estimated at more than UAH 1 million as a means of transporting smuggling goods across the border.
