A joint interagency group consisting of officers of the Main Operational and Investigative Department of the Mukachevo Border Guard Detachment, the Strategic Investigations Department in Zakarpattia region and investigators of the Mukachevo District Police Department of the National Police in Zakarpattia region, under the procedural supervision of the Mukachevo District Prosecutor's Office, detained the organizer of people smuggling across the border in Zakarpattia region.

The scheme of illegal enrichment was organized by a 40-year-old resident of Mukachevo.

Within the framework of criminal proceedings initiated on the grounds of committing a crime, the offender was detained while transporting two of his clients to Tyachiv district. There, he planned to form a large group of border crossers for their further transportation to Romania.

For his services, the dealer was going to receive USD 8 thousand from each "client".

If his guilt is proven in court, he faces a sentence of seven to nine years in prison.
