Servicemen of the Luhansk border guard detachment together with representatives of the State Fiscal Service, acting as part of the Joint Forces, prevented an attempt to illegally move to the occupied part of Luhansk region, without proper permission, icons and books that may be of cultural value.

So, a 57-year-old Ukrainian arrived at the Stanytsia Luhanska entry-exit checkpoint yesterday. He was on his way to occupied Brianka. During the control measures, the border guards together with the representatives of the SFS found in the citizen's bag antiques dating from the beginning of the XIX and XX centuries. The man did not have any permits from the Coordination Center to move such values.

Among the discovered: the icon of St. Theodora (1800), the book “Lucretius on the Nature of Things” (1913), “Geographical Atlas” (1890), “Psalter” (1898), the icon of Jesus Christ (year unknown), which may constitute a historical or other cultural value and are prohibited from moving across the line of demarcation.

So far, antiquities have been confiscated by the SFS for relevant examinations. Administrative materials were drawn up against the citizen for the movement of antiques with violations.
