Border guards of “Yahodyn” border guard division, Lutsk border guard detachment, in cooperation with representatives of Security Service of Ukraine detained a large consignment of contraband cigarettes several days ago.

Border guards learned beforehand about possible illegal tobacco products transfer across the state border in this area. Joint interagency group has stopped the vehicle not far from village Vyshniv, Liubomlskyi district. Citizen of Ukraine, resident of Volodymyr-Volynskyi, drived the vehicle. In the course of inspection of the vehicle, border guards found 35 boxes with cigarettes of “Fest” brand (Belorussia production) there. The driver had no documents for the goods. At present, the documentation measures of illegal actions are being conducted.

The total number of 650 thousand packs of contraband cigarettes were detained by the border guards of Nothern Regional Directorate in 436 cases. Smugglers attempted to transfer these cigarettes illegally in one or another manner.
