Three irregular migrants were detained last night by border guards of the Mukachevo BG detachment near the border with Hungary.

During the implementation of the available information about a possible illegal border crossing, officers of the operative and search department detected three people – two women and a man on the outskirts of the village of Chetfalva, Berehovo district, Zakarpattia region. Two of them, a man and a woman, had documents of citizens of the Dominican Republic with expired visas. Another woman provided a passport of a Spanish citizen for inspection.

The foreigners could not explain the purpose of their stay on the border at 3 am. The detainees later admitted that they intended to cross the Ukrainian-Hungarian border illegally in order to further improve their living conditions in one of the European Union countries.

Foreigners were taken to the Vylok Border Guard Division to draw up protocols on administrative offenses and conduct filtering activities.
