Border guards of the 9th detachment named after Sichovi Striltsi, together with the chaplain of the military unit, Father Andrii, also joined the event.

The other day, an informational event was organized and held in Oleg Olzhych regional universal scientific library for students of educational institutions and the city's youth as part of the patriotic and educational project «Flag of Dignity and Honor». Border guards of the 9th detachment named after Sichovi Striltsi, together with the chaplain of the military unit, Father Andrii, also joined the event.

The main goal of the event is to ensure proper patriotic education of the youth of the regional center. Education of a patriotic citizen of Ukraine, affirmation of love for the Motherland, spirituality, morality, respectful attitude to the national heritage of the Ukrainian people, imitation of the best examples of courage and achievements of fighters for the freedom and independence of Ukraine, both from the historical past and defenders who today protect sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state.

The project itself provides for the transfer of State flags signed by the defenders of Ukraine to schools, during their stay in the zone of active hostilities, with wishes for children to motivate them to study well. And it is precisely such flags of «Dignity and Honor» that should pass in the educational institution from class to class, which won the competition for the best indicators in studies and patriotic activities, as a reward for each semester. The flags became an honor and incentive for the school's class teams for their high activity in volunteer activities, social events, and education.

During the event, the border guards told those present about the activities of the border detachment and the examples of courage shown by the servicemen of the military unit that are currently defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine in the east of our country.

Also during the event, the chaplain prayed for the perished defenders and assured, in his speech, about the need for the younger generation to understand what patriotism and love for their Motherland are.

At the end, the organizers of the project expressed confidence in its further development and expansion. After all, it is precisely such measures of national-patriotic education that enable young people to grow into conscious citizens of their State - sovereign, independent, democratic, social and legal Ukraine.
