Recently, in Zakarpattia region the border guards of Ukraine and Romania stopped the attempt of tobacco smuggling by means of joint and coordinated actions.

Border guards of Dilove Border Guard Division of Mukacheve Border Guard Detachment received information from their Romanian colleagues that they detected tobacco packages near the border. Ukrainian border guards immediately went to the place of the alleged offense. During search operations border guards revealed four people. They ignored the lawful demands of the patrol and tried to escape, but after a warning shot the offense was stopped. All four detainees were residents of Rakhiv, two of who were 16 years old and the other 18 and 20 years old.

The detainees were charged with administrative offenses, and the cases were sent to court.
