The border guards of the Mukachevo border guard detachment detained six men who intended to cross the state border illegally.

Five of them were stopped on the outskirts of the village of Pyiterfolvo in the course of implementing the information received from the operational and search department.

Two of the detainees are residents of Rivne region, and two are residents of Kyiv and Poltava regions. They were accompanied by a resident of Zakarpattia, who promised his "fellow travelers" unimpeded crossing of the border with Hungary, in particular the Tisa River.

Another smuggler was detained on the border with Romania by a unit from the Rakosh border guard inspectorate.

The detainees were taken to the border guard units to clarify the circumstances of the offense and bring them to administrative responsibility for attempting to cross the border illegally.

Border guards informed the National Police about the detection of signs of a crime in the actions of the Transcarpathian.

Totally, since the beginning of August, border guards of the Mukachevo border guard detachment have already prevented 50 attempts to cross the border, resulting in the detention of 98 border violators.

Among a number of active measures aimed at countering attempts to cross the state border illegally, in recent months border guards have been using photo traps that allow them to remotely monitor a particular section of the border.

Since the start of using such autonomous devices, which detect movement and alert about the presence of unauthorized persons in the border area, 15 attempts to violate the border have been stopped, resulting in the detention of more than two dozen offenders.
