In Zakarpattia, employees of the Department for Combating Transnational Crime of the Mukachevo Border Guard Unit, together with officers of the Patrol Police Department and the Territorial Office of the Bureau of Economic Security in Zakarpattia Oblast, intercepted an attempt to illegally transport and distribute untaxed tobacco products.

Acting on information obtained by the operational search unit of the Mukachevo Border Guard Unit, law enforcement officers stopped a "Toyota" vehicle packed full of counterfeit cigarettes on the outskirts of the village of Neresnytsia. A local resident was transporting 10,000 packs of untaxed cigarettes to sell them.

The actions of the Zakarpattia resident constitute signs of a criminal offense. The vehicle and tobacco products were confiscated from the individual.

Efforts are ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the offense.
