The units of Lutsk Border Guard Detachment continue their active fight against illegal transportation of tobacco products across the border. Besides, the possible places of tobacco accumulation in controlled border areas are constantly traced and checked.

As a result, only yesterday the border guards were able to reveal the hiding place near the Western Buh and stop transportation of cigarettes batch near the border.

After the joint with the Polish colleagues detention in the area of responsibility of "Rivne" Border Guard Division in Liubomyldistrict, Volyn region, 5 smugglers who tried to transport 18 boxes of cigarettes across the border, there emerged an information about one more possible hiding place of this group. During the check of the sector between engineering constructions and the border line border guards of Lutsk Border Guard Detachment revealed 21 boxes of “Fest” brand cigarettes hidden in cane and wrapped in polyethylene for a passage through water.

The same day mobile border post within Liubomyl district revealed and detained two inhabitants of the border area who were reloading 15 boxes of cigarettes of “Fest” brand with the Belarus tax stamps from one minibus to another without any goods accompanying documents.

At the moment operational and checking measures are being undertaken, 18 thousand packs of cigarettes will be handed over to the fiscal officials of Ukraine.
