Over the course of a day, soldiers from the Mukachevo detachment stopped several groups of border violators. Nine men attempted to illegally cross the border with Romania, while two others attempted to cross the border with Hungary.

Five lawbreakers were stopped near the village of Bila Tserkva in the Tyachiv district by soldiers from the "S" type unit of the Mukachevo border detachment, during the implementation of information provided by an officer of the operational-search unit. At three o'clock in the morning, the patrol detained them ten meters from the border. The men were wearing hydro suits. In order to stop the violators, who attempted to ignore the lawful demands of the border guards and escape, the soldiers had to fire a warning shot into the air.

Two more men of conscription age were also detained by soldiers from the "Luzhanka" unit, according to information from the detachment's operatives, when they attempted to cross the border with Hungary.

Furthermore, border patrols from the "Dilove" and "Tyachiv" units near the Ukrainian-Romanian border also stopped several men who attempted to illegally cross the border.

In addition, it was learned through information exchange that Romanian border guards found a 52-year-old Ukrainian citizen unconscious on the banks of the Tisza River. Resuscitation efforts proved unsuccessful. At the medical facility where the drowning victim was taken, doctors pronounced him dead.
